I kept overwhelming with data, information, knowledge and wisdom over a period of time. And I really wanted to lean towards skilling on few aspect to train my son. But never know that skilling, building knowledge and talent are different things.
Skilling is more on sharpening at a particular task, skills are needed to do repetitive work quickly without mistakes. With Education we can build a skill.
There are 2 kinds of knowledge that comes from knowing, one is factual knowledge learnt from books and schooling, and another is experiential knowledge, both of it can be obtained via education and work.
Talent is not comparable to Skill and Knowledge, it is the inclination we have or inner call that we have in ourself. We will get engaged into something for a longer period, if we have some inner call.
It is not a straight road from data, information to knowledge and wisdom. It is very curved road, based on the environment of the people, necessities and inclinations, one get to know, skill and develop talent. If the knowing had to change their environment had to change, if their skilling had to change the necessities had to change, If environment and skilling changes, the inclination, the likeliness, the engagement and the talents changes.
If talent had to be developed in a particular direction, change the necessities and environment accordingly. This is a complete paradigm shift I am discovering from Girish Mathrubootham.
Talents boils down to really core traits like Organized to Unorganised creative person or are you articulate or introvert kind of person.
Don't try to change the person or their talent, based on the existing talent groom them. On certain role learning by doing is simply not acceptable that is where we require training or hire people that have the skill.
