I came across this wonderful post showing the difference between QUIT and GRIT and the Idea of moving our beloved from QUITTING to GRITTING came to my mind.
Post | LinkedIn, Susan David is a Psychologist and with no doubt the clarity is sitting just on top of the face in her post.
Following are few Questions,
Do I find joy or satisfaction in what I am doing?
Does this reflect what is important to me?
Does this draw on my strengths?
If I am completely honest with myself, do I believe I can really be a success?
What opportunities will I give up if I pursue this?
Am I demonstrating GRIT or am I obstinate?
If the Answer is "Yes" for Question 1 to 4 and despite opportunity loss, you like to pursue your goal and if you have clarity you are in the path of GRIT.
Honesty is the best policy, first and foremost it should be present. Without it pursuing has nothing to do.
Any activity had to be made enjoyable and satisfactory and it should have a purpose to be important and we should have the strength or gain the strength and play according to our strength, only playing on our strength make the play enjoyable. Sacrificing few things will be essential to achieve, sacrifice few good stuffs to gain the highest good stuff which will bring back everything in one form or other. If we can do various such things and have clarity and comfort in what we do, we are having the GRIT and not being obstinate.
Our Purpose had to lead us above and beyond (to the god). We had to be Honest on our purpose. We should develop our strengths with clarity and comfort and we should enjoy doing it.
Let us make the purpose clear to others, help them understand the virtue of honesty in the pursuit and strengthen ourselves and enjoy the journey and be with GRIT without just QUIT.
